Congratulations Kayla!

The Chemical Biology program at UC Davis is designed to bridge the gap between chemical and biological sciences, encouraging students to think beyond the narrow scope of their individual projects or lab specialties. Kayla Pakulski from the Lebrilla Lab, whose work focuses primarily on biological and analytical techniques, joined the program to gain hands-on experience in organic chemistry through a cross-lab rotation. As part of this initiative, they will collaborate with Dr. Franz’s lab to develop small molecule probes, which will then be integrated into glycan–protein interaction studies back in the Lebrilla Lab—advancing both their research and the program’s interdisciplinary mission.
