The 2025 San Diego Glycobiology Symposium (SDGS) served as a vibrant platform for advancing glycobiology research, with a strong emphasis on knowledge exchange and collaboration across institutions and sectors. Representing the Lebrilla Lab, four members attended the event. Michael Russelle Alvarez was honored with the prestigious Rising Star Award and also gave a talk showcasing his impactful research. Xavier Holmes and Yiyun Liu were selected to speak in the Next Gen session, which highlights emerging leaders in the field, while Riya Gogte presented a research poster showcasing the lab’s recent work. Additionally, Dr. Carlito B. Lebrilla gave an invited talk, further emphasizing the lab’s active contributions to the glycobiology community.
